A theory is an hypothesis until proven by fact…unless we are talking about the ‘Single Bullet Theory.’

The Warren Commission, assembled to investigate the assassination of President Kennedy on November 22, 1963 because the accused killer was murdered before his public trial got underway, concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted as the lone assassin.

It cited considerable circumstantial evidence that Oswald was involved in the tragic event, but didn’t exert much of an effort to establish if Oswald had any confederates.

Matter-of-factly, it determined that Oswald acted independently…and was then silenced forever by Jack Ruby, who also acted alone.

Unfortunately for history, ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’ was no longer the legal standard the Commission had to adhere to after Oswald drew his last breath.

Knowing that a court of public opinion is much easier to persuade than 12 jurors at a trial when the accused can’t defend himself, the Warren Commission, believe it or not, relied upon the ‘single bullet theory’ to reach its most important finding – Oswald acted completely alone.

THE ‘MAGIC’ BEHIND THE THEORY

Acting on the premise that the evidence would not be contested until 2038 when President Johnson’s 75-year ban expires, the Commission rested its lone assassin case on little more than a theory.

Even more alarming, as Chapter 4 of Through the ‘Oswald’ Window details, the Commission had to literally ignore evidence to the contrary. Further, it had to disregard eyewitnesses, ear witnesses and expert witnesses.

And it gets worse.

In order to present the notorious ‘Magic’ bullet hypothesis (see above diagram) that requires one bullet to cause seven wounds in two men, break two major bones, make at least one change-in-direction in mid air and also pause a full second between JFK and Governor Connally, all without any discernible damage to the projectile, the Commission:

• Transit Trouble – Had to disregard the official autopsy report that says the ‘Magic’ bullet did not even transit the President’s body.
• Moving Entry Wound – Had to move an entry wound in the President’s back up almost six inches to make the ‘single bullet theory’ viable.
• Moving Head Wound – Had to ignore the testimony of nearly a dozen doctors, nurses and trauma room attendants who observed a massive head wound on the President that refutes the lone gunman theory.

Imagine an unsubstantiated hypothesis, such as the ‘single bullet theory,’ taking the place of medical and ballistic evidence as the foundation for historical fact about the death of the 35^th President of the United States!
